Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, this fantastic Executive role presents an enviable opportunity to lead a diverse, high-performing division that provides key advice on Human Resources, Health Safety & Wellbeing, Organisational Learning and Development. The role will lead the culture and development initiatives of the organisation, working to maintain and improve Knox City Council’s high-performance culture to be truly leading in the Local Government sector.

As a key member of a high-performing Executive team, you will act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and will have responsibility for:
  • Leading Council’s People, Culture and Development function, partnering with stakeholders across the organisation to drive change and improvements to culture and performance at all levels
  • Driving an organisational vision, strategy and goals with key focuses on Organisational Development, Leadership Development and Health and Safety
  • Lead the development and implementation of an updated version of Knox’s “Thrive” strategy
  • Growing and developing the organisation’s approach to Leadership Development across all levels
  • Oversight of the organisation’s journey out of COVID and into a new, contemporary way of working
Applications are sought from experienced, senior People and Culture leaders, who bring demonstrable experience of driving strategy and with a high level of expertise in lifting capability in OD, L&D and Health & Safety. The role will require a high level of political acumen, experience in nurturing high performing teams and the ability to build strong, long-lasting relationships.

Applicants will bring relevant tertiary qualifications and significant senior level experience from complex, service delivery organisations. Excellent analytical, problem-solving and conceptual skills will enable the development of innovative and evidence-based plans, programs and responses.
