This high-profile, critical leadership role heads up a newly formed Directorate, designed to bring together areas responsible for supporting the organisation, its service delivery and its improvement.  The Director will lead a customer-centric approach across Knox, as the organisation focuses on improving what Council does and delivering on the community vision.

As a key member of a high-performing Executive team, the Director will act as a trusted advisor to the CEO, with responsibility for leading Council’s functions across Customer and Communications, Strategy and Transformation, CIO office and Governance and Risk.

The new Director will lead Council’s transformation and improvement initiatives, with a strong focus on customer, informed and driven by the new Customer Strategy, as well as a focus on quality, efficiency and performance. A renewed customer focus will be central to the renewed organisational focus on strategy, services and business improvement, with the approach to corporate strategy and planning, through to reporting and analysis, working as part of an end-to-end business cycle that links the transformation and improvement initiatives.

Applications are sought from highly experienced, commercially focused and transformative people leaders, who bring demonstrable experience of driving strategy, enhanced performance and change across these portfolio areas, with highly developed political acumen and experience in nurturing high performing teams.

Applicants will bring relevant tertiary qualifications and senior level experience aligned with the responsibilities of this new directorate, with significant experience obtained from complex, service delivery organisations. Excellent analytical, problem solving, and conceptual skills will enable the development of innovative and evidence-based plans, programs and responses.
