Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this role presents a fantastic opportunity to lead a division spanning strategic land use planning, growth area planning and statutory compliance, presenting a unique role to plan and shape a highly liveable future community in a municipality experiencing significant and continued population growth.

As a member of a high-performing executive team, you will act as the primary advisor to the CEO and Council and will have responsibility for:
  • Developing a truly customer-centric approach to planning, partnering with the community and working to enhance their experience of working with Council
  • Setting the strategic direction for planning across the municipality, helping to build a healthy, prosperous and sustainable community
  • Leading the organisation with an innovative approach to planning, consistent with community demand and expectations 
  • Creating a safe and inclusive culture that genuinely invests in our people’s wellbeing, growth and development
The ideal candidate is an established senior leader with strategic and contemporary service delivery expertise, highly developed political acumen, a track record in delivering change and experience in nurturing high performing teams.  Applicants will bring relevant qualifications in Planning, Public Administration, Business or similar, along with significant experience in statutory planning, ideally within Local Government.
