Reporting to the General Manager Infrastructure and Environment and looking after a team of 26, this newly created role is responsible for providing strategic leadership across three key areas:

Asset Management: Manage Council’s Asset Management functions and oversee the preparation of renewal programs for capital works, manage the development and implementation of Council’s Asset Management Systems and Asset Management Plans for Council’s key infrastructure groups and review asset management policies and strategies

Waste Management: Ensure efficient operation of Council’s Waste Management, recycling, green waste and litter prevention operations, manage waste services with a focus on waste minimisation, reuse and recycle processes and oversee the management of contracts for the provision of waste management services

Development requirements: Plan for the timely provision of infrastructure for new developments, including the new suburb of Pakenham East, manage the engineering approval process for development applications relating to road, drainage and parks infrastructure requirements for development approvals and manage the timely delivery and administration of Council’s developer contributions for the provision of infrastructure.

We are seeking applications from established leaders who bring a comprehensive understanding of successfully driving new strategies across a broad range of areas in the infrastructure space.

The successful incumbent will also have sound understanding of Strategic Planning and Operational Management, with tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related area and extensive experience in management of technical teams, preferably in a Local Government environment.
