One of Victoria’s most recognisable, iconic and customer centric Not-for-Profit organisations is seeking an experienced innovator and with high-calibre engagement skills to fulfil a newly created role that is an exciting combination of high-level strategy and innovation.

Reporting directly to the Chief Strategy, Innovation and Performance Officer, this role is tasked with working to explore new products and services in anticipation of customer need, maximising revenue from existing offerings and ensuring effective commercial responses to the changing external environment. The ultimate goal of the role is to deliver a pipeline of new products and services based on internal engagement, external research, and a robust ideation process that can work to enhance the organisation’s ongoing financial sustainability.

Key deliverables will include:
  • Identify, build and maintain strategic commercial and industry relationships to support the delivery of the organisation’s legislative responsibilities, strategic outcomes and services
  • Identify opportunities to form commercial relationships with third party organisations and to develop strategic industry partnerships and alliances
  • Build and maintain a robust innovation process aligned to the organisation’s future direction
  • Support the maturing and development of the organisation’s process improvement capability to deliver improved customer outcomes
  • Engage current commercial partners and vendors to build and deliver innovative solutions and performance monitoring for identified opportunities
  • Design, develop and implement an internal innovation program to capture ideas for improvement, including new products and services, from across the organisation
  • Strengthen and maintain effective industry networks and work collaboratively with sector, business and industry groups to build strong and vibrant relationships
  • Establish, manage and monitor KPI’s of this service offering in accordance with the organisation’s Strategic Plan and the short, medium and long term objectives
The successful candidate will be a natural innovator who demonstrates a growth mindset and a passion for creativity. Extensive experience in establishing and maintaining partnerships, effective networks and strategic alliances will be critical, along with demonstrated experience in designing, implementing and maintaining a robust innovation program that delivers results. Qualifications in Business Management, Financial Management, Business Administration or Entrepreneurship will be expected, along with high level communication skills to build credibility with the Board and Executive.

Solid experience in developing new approaches and relationships is fundamental, all with a pragmatic approach to deliver the best outcomes for customers.
