Reporting to the Director Organisational Performance (CFO) and as part of the Senior Leadership Team, this pivotal role provides inspirational leadership
, whilst ensuring that the ePMO operates at a strategic and operational level. This role will also oversee a small team, in collaboration with the Executive and Senior Leadership Team.
As a key advisor to the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Team, the ePMO Lead plays a critical role in helping to drive Melton City Council’s long-term planning of services and deliver on its Council and Wellbeing Plan.
Key responsibilities include:
- Creation and implementation of the enterprise project management framework supporting policies and processes, guidelines, templates, and tools to support identification of resource capacity and demand requirements required to deliver programs and projects.
- Provision of high quality, evaluative thinking and evidence informed analysis and advice to the Director Organisational Performance, Investment Review Committee and other governance committees and members to make effective decisions.
- Leading a high performing team with a strong mandate for supporting enterprise delivery and the provision of expert advice and leadership to the project teams. This includes applying a quality approach in identifying deliverables, dependencies, key milestones, and high-level resource allocations, across the organisation.
- Ensuring the provision of regular enterprise executive reporting through undertaking complex analysis and interpretation and applying significant expertise and advice to assist project owners to provide clear and robust decision-making material to the relevant governance forums.
Potential candidates will bring previous experience in leading an Enterprise Portfolio Management Office using Waterfall, Agile and Hybrid delivery approaches. Extensive experience and understanding in influencing and driving organisational change will be critical, with relevant experience leading and transforming a corporate Project Services/ePMO function.
A tertiary qualification or postgraduate degree is a requirement, preferably in Project Management, or alternatively a lesser formal qualification together with extensive, diverse experience. Qualifications and/or experience in online project management business systems, MS Project Scheduling and dashboard reporting such as Power BI or similar would be highly regarded.
Experience in local government or complex, service delivery organisations would be highly beneficial for this challenging and rewarding role.
