Working within one of Australia's leading Not-for-Profit Healthcare institutions, the Finance Manager is plays a critical role in enabling the finance team to work closely with senior leadership to drive financial performance and strategic growth.
This role is offered on an initial 6 month contract basis, with a view to permanency.
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this role will provide financial partnership, advice, analysis and reporting, partnering directly with operational leaders and managers across the organisation, providing high-level financial support that enables strategic decision-making, improves performance, and contributes to long-term financial sustainability. This role is integral in maintaining financial integrity, delivering insightful analysis, and supporting informed decision-making that balances operational needs with commercial objectives.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Lead a contemporary Business Partnering model across the organisation
- Mould and shape the existing team, working to ensure that the structure and function are fit for purpose to fulfill organisational needs
- Lead financial strategy and performance improvement
- Drive cost savings initiatives and provide expert financial analysis
- Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for both finance and non-finance stakeholders
- Ensuring timely and accurate recording of data in the financial systems and ensuring adequate internal controls exist over these systems
- Provide the Chief Financial Officer with timely financial analysis and advice, including financial results, forecasts and budgets, revenue optimisation and cost control and procurement benefits.
- Provide support to area managers on the achievement of budget
- Positively challenge divisional financial performance and business planning
- Adopt a view of continuous improvement to processes, procedures and systems
We are seeking applications from candidates who bring 5+ years' experience in financial/business partnering, with exposure to senior stakeholders and a strong commercial acumen to enable a lift in commercial thinking and capability across the team. The ability to develop financial models and forecasts is critical, along with significant experience in strategic and operational financial planning in a large, complex setting.
CA / CPA qualifications will be mandatory, with broad accounting experience, ideally obtained from a service-driven environment. Experience of the healthcare sector would be advantageous but is by no means essential. A strong strategic mindset, the ability to balance financial and operational priorities and high-level skills in forecasting, budgeting and financial modelling with enable you to develop credibility with senior leaders, clinicians and operational teams.
